Let’s Dance Grandma

By: Nigel McMullen

Let’s Dance Grandma

Dance-loving fox Lucy anticipates a fun-filled visit with grandma in spite of her mother’s warning that grandmas do not dance, a declaration that leads to enjoying other games and Lucy’s growing wish that grandma and she might still dance together.

Rating: 3 ***

It’s a cute book, but the message is very confusing. The grandma is too old to dance, so instead she’s doing other more strenuous things with the child. At one point she’s down on her hands and knees giving a pony ride. It’s important for kids to know that elderly grandparents might not be able to do a lot of physical things but in the end the grandma even dances.
