Hi, Koo! A Year of Seasons

Summary:
Jon J Muth–and his panda bear, Koo provide readers with twenty-six haikus about the four seasons.

Rating: 3 ***

It’s too cryptic and disjointed for young kids. There are several haikus for each season, but they all seem to be completely random.

If

Summary:
An inspirational poem written by Rudyard Kipling in 1895

Rating: 4 ****

A beautiful and inspirational poem. There’s also a passage included about the history of the poem and how Kipling wrote it for his son. Unfortunately, although beautiful too, the illustrations don’t match the vague text and take away from the poem’s meaning.
