This story is told in the old guy noir style. Not sure kids will pick up all of the references and it’s a bit long for the age range.
When their mother fails to return one night, three Tasmanian Devil cubs venture out of their den in search of food and, by doing what Tasmanian Devils are supposed to do, manage to save their mother from a trap.

A really sweet story about three cubs who learn quickly about growing up and life in the wild.
This easy-to-read story about a peddler and a band of mischievous monkeys is filled with warmth, humor, and simplicity. Children will delight in following the peddlers efforts to outwit the monkeys

You monkeys you. You give me back my caps. My son adores this book and acts along with the monkeys while I act out as the peddler.
Mr. Small has a shiny red auto. On nice days, Mr. Small takes his car out of the garage and goes for a drive. He can drive fast enough to pass a horse and buggy! He runs into trouble when it begins to rain and he gets a flat tire.

Kids won t want this hilarious read-aloud ride to end. Who says getting there isn t half the fun? It s hot. Hot, hot, hot! So Junie and Jake and Poppa and the baby want to go to the lake. But can they make it in their rattletrap car?

This is one incredible car. If anything, after reading this book I wanted to rush out and buy some marshmallow fudge delight.
Waking up in the dark at Grandpa’s house can be scary–the door in the hallway looks like a cave, and that noise could be a bear. Lucky for Marie, the bear is really Grandpa, who’s come to offer some reassurance and a flashlight that will make the dark house a lot less spooky.

This book is perfect for the preschool crowd. It includes an icky yicky mud muddle, a bunch of noisy vehicles and preschoolers at play.
A little girl whose hapless father has locked his keys in the car. As he struggles with a wire hanger and the sky threatens to storm, she comes up with a singing-in-the-rain plan of action. With the help of a friendly German Shepherd, a grocer, a white cat, a butterfly, and a locksmith.

This story will really make your preschooler think as all of the actions are independent upon the next. It also is written in a really nice singsong rhyme: “The car gets unlocked, jangle-me jome/The car gets unlocked, and we drive home.”
